NORTH WALES
Whatever stage you’re at, the mountains of North Wales are the perfect place to build it. From your first day on the hills to fine-tuning technical skills before an alpine objective, our UK programme covers the full range — expert guiding throughout, with routes to match wherever you’re starting from.
Snowdon
The Watkin Path
Ideal for those new to mountain walking, or anyone who wants a genuine mountain day without scrambling or technical difficulty
Technical Alpinsm
2 days
Our technical alpinism preparation trips are built around exactly that, giving climbers the skills and confidence to move safely and efficiently before heading to the Alps.
The Welsh 3000s
24 hours
The Welsh 3000s challenge is exactly what it sounds like: all fifteen peaks over 3,000ft in Wales, climbed in a single continuous day
The Snowdon Horseshoe
Via Crib Goch
Exposed, thrilling, and technical in places — this is one of the great UK mountain days.
Not sure where to start?
If you’re new to the mountains, start with Snowdon via the Watkin Path — a proper mountain day out, but one that doesn’t require any scrambling or technical skill. It’s the best way to find out how you get on with a full day in the hills.
If you’ve done some hillwalking and fancy trying your hand at scrambling, Tryfan and Glyders Circular is the natural next step — exposed enough to be exciting, without needing ropework.
Already comfortable scrambling and want a bigger day? The Snowdon Horseshoe or the Welsh 3000s will test your legs, your nerve, and your navigation. We recommend this for those venturing into the Alps for the first time. It’ll highlight any weaknesses you have.
And if the Alps are the goal — the Matterhorn, the Eiger, or your first serious alpine route — our Technical Alpinism Preparation trips are designed to get you ready, with the rope work, movement skills, and mountain judgement those routes demand.
Still not sure? Get in touch and we’ll help you find the right trip for where you are now — and where you want to go next.
“Having a tailored approach to my training, adjusted to my body type and experience was really useful.”
