Agustín is an IFMGA/UIAGM-certified Mountain Guide, trained and certified in Argentina, with international experience leading technical climbs and expeditions across Patagonia, the Alps and Alaska. He splits his time between Chamonix and Patagonia, guiding classic ascents in the Fitz Roy massif — including Aguja Guillaumet, Aguja de la S and Aguja Mermoz — as well as multi-day traverses across the Patagonian Ice Fields.
He built much of his experience guiding high-altitude expeditions on Aconcagua and technical alpine routes involving rock, ice and mixed climbing, and was part of the first expedition dedicated to remeasuring the height of Denali in Alaska. In Europe, he has guided classic and technical routes throughout the Alps, including Mont Blanc and the Dufourspitze. Agustín also guides ski mountaineering and ski touring trips in both Chamonix and Patagonia, with a strong focus on safety, technical skill, and creating genuine mountain experiences.
Growing up in El Bolsón, Patagonia, the mountains were never really a choice for Agustín — they were simply where he started. His parents ran a small mountain school, and he grew up on skis and trails alongside his brother and friends. That same instinct — sharing something real, outdoors, with people he cares about — still drives everything he does as a guide today.

Why the mountains?
I grew up in El Bolsón, Patagonia, surrounded by mountains — it was never a choice, just where I started. My parents ran a small mountain school, and I grew up on skis and trails with them, my brother, and friends. That’s still what drives me: sharing something real, outdoors, with people you care about.
What’s the biggest challenge you face with the mountains?
Staying in the mountains — guiding, enjoying it, hitting my personal and professional goals, and getting old doing it. That’s the real challenge: making a life out of this, season after season, without burning out or getting hurt.
What’s your most epic experience to date?
Climbing Chacraraju in Peru and the Fitz Roy in Patagonia — two of the most technical, demanding peaks out there, and two climbs I’ll never forget.
What does life look like outside of the mountains?
Even off days are outdoors — skiing, mountain biking, paragliding, climbing with friends. Splitting time between Chamonix and Patagonia, life stays simple: outside, with good people.
