The Welsh 3000s, North Wales
Tick off all the big ones in North Wales
16 – 24 hours
£200 per person
Skill Level 3-4
The Welsh 3000s challenge is exactly what it sounds like: all fifteen peaks over 3,000ft in Wales, climbed in a single continuous day. It’s a serious test of endurance, pace judgement, and navigation across some of Snowdonia’s finest — and most relentless — terrain.
Who is this for?
Built for experienced hill goers looking to push further and a great test before stepping into the Alps for the first time. This is a long, physically demanding day that requires a strong existing level of fitness and previous mountain experience — it’s not a suitable first outing in the hills. It is a perfect test if you’re looking at Mont Blanc though!
What to Expect
- A full traverse of all fifteen 3,000ft (914m) peaks in Snowdonia in one continuous day
- Event split into 3 stages with vehicle support (carrying any extra food, water, spare kit you bring) at the end of each one
- Sustained ascent and descent (over 3,800m up and down) across a wide range of terrain, including some scrambling
- Scrambling and moving in the mountains at night
- Careful pacing and route planning to complete the challenge over 3 stages
- Support and guidance on navigation, timing, and managing fatigue over a long day
- A genuine sense of achievement — this is one of the toughest one-day challenges in the UK mountains

A note on conditions:
UK mountains never run to a fixed script, be prepared for the worst and hope for th ebest. Every course is weather and condition dependent, and your Mountain Leader’s safety decisions — including changes to the route, the objective, or the schedule — are always final. Where a planned summit isn’t possible, your guide will offer the best available alternative on the day.
